Fifteen members of the group set sail for Tabarca on the Kontiki Dos in good sailing conditions. The trip to the Island took about an hour. Waters surrounding the Island have been officially declared a Mediterranean marine nature reserve and the Islands marine heritage is recorded in a small museum on the beach front. Some members of the group strolled around the Island while others sampled the small shops and bars and lunch was partaken at one of the beach restaurants.
